Seyve-Villard 12-417 × Chancellor interspecific hybrid obtained in 1945 by Joannes Seyve in France, it was named after the locality Chambourcin in Isère (F) and marketed in 1963. Resistant to cold and fungal diseases, it can be planted in humid conditions. Its wines are very aromatic. Its presence in Switzerland is discreet, mostly in Ticino.

Gives a fruity wine, rich in color and in alcohol - presence of anthocyanins diglucosides - with generally a strong acidity, of suitable quality, perfumed with in the mouth a slight bitterness and astringency when young asking therefore to age. Aromas of citrus fruits (grapefruit, ...), flowers, red fruits (black cherry, plum, ...), spicy touch.
