Born from the union of Bronner (German grape) and Gamaret, the white Divona grape is the result of 20 years of patient and meticulous selection by Agroscope. “Divona has very good wine potential and resistance to gray rot thanks to Gamaret. The Bronner variety provides strong protection against downy mildew and powdery mildew (diseases caused by fungi) ”, announces Agroscope.IRAC 2060, code name for Divona, was selected from among thousands of applicants on the basis of both vine and wine criteria: disease resistance, climate adaptation, production capacity and sugar content. This new grape shares the same parents as Divico - the big red brother of Divona - which is already experiencing promising development in Geneva since the canton owns 36% of the vineyard areas planted in Switzerland.
