An artificial cross of Chasselas × Chardonnay obtained in 1965 at the Agroscope research center in Pully (Switzerland), Doral was produced with the aim of creating a grape variety that is more aromatic and richer in sugar than Chasselas. An early and productive grape variety, susceptible to gray rot, Charmont produces fresh wines with exotic aromas, exclusively in Switzerland.
