Galotta

An artificial cross between Ancellotta × Gamay, Galotta was obtained in 1981 at the Agroscope research center in Pully (Switzerland) in order to create a grape variety similar to Gamay, but richer in color. Named after its parents, Galotta offers good resistance to gray rot. Grown only in Switzerland, its wines are colorful, with firm tannins, and are often used in blending.
