Regent

A Diana × Chambourcin hybrid obtained in 1967 at the Geilweilerhof (D) research station, it was named after the famous "Le Régent" diamond (140.5 carats) found in India. This interspecific grape variety is very early, very resistant to cold and fungal diseases, and adapted to northern regions. In Switzerland, it is found particularly in the cantons of Zurich and Schaffhausen, where it produces generous wines, with silky tannins.
