Blaufränkisch × Sankt Laurent artificial cross created at the Klosterneuburg research center near Vienna in Austria in 1922, the Zweigelt was named after its breeder Fritz Zweigelt. A relatively early variety, sensitive to powdery mildew and very productive, Zweigelt is not cultivated very much in Switzerland.

Aroma Potential
Gives a fine, delicate, full-bodied wine with a beautiful dark ruby or dark garnet color with purplish reflections, with good acidity and supple and silky tannins, a little harsh in its youth, improving quickly with age.Aromas of cocoa, cinnamon, spices, red fruits (black cherry, strawberry, raspberry, morello cherry, blackberry, red plum, ...), notes of undergrowth, white and black peppers, roasting.
