La Barbera probably originates between Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna (I). It was only after the phylloxera crisis at the end of the 19th century that it spread to Piedmont, particularly in the region of Alba and Asti. Productive variety, giving wines rich in color and alcohol, its surfaces in Switzerland are anecdotal.
