Interspecific cross between cabernet-sauvignon and solaris (merzling x Geisenheim 6493 (zarya severa x muscat ottonel)) made in 1982 by Norbert Becker from the Friborg Research Institute in Brisgau in Germany. It has the particularity of having only one gene for resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew. It can be found in the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, ... still little known in France. Note that Cabernet-Carol has the same parents.

Aroma Potential

Gives a wine sometimes lacking in acidity, intense ruby ​​red color, full-bodied, structured, fruity, tannic with sometimes hard tannins, rich in extracts and phenolic compounds. It is the ideal grape variety if you want to produce original rosé wines.
Aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, blackberry, spicy notes, vanilla notes, vegetal notes, black pepper, violet.
